23 Years Old : Aqua Bab Modeling Mask

It's been quite a few years since I've posted anything here but recently since I started my new sales job at a Korean/Japanese skincare & cosmetics store and have been trying out many many Korean skincare products (mainly masks) for "work purposes" I decided to try my luck at blogging and writing reviews again. (Lol. looking back at my horrific 1st post an "introduction" of myself just made me cringe in more then one way....let's just forget those days and start fresh, shall we??)

Now, on to what you're probably more interested in...a review of the 23 Years old Aqua Bab Modeling Mask  . Surprisingly this product hasn't gotten much hype on the internet or YouTube....so far i only know it's for sale on sites like eBay or Wishtrend for around $19 - $24 USD ($25  - $30+ CAD depending on conversion rates ) depending on where you find it. Inside there's only 4 uses...so, that's pretty pricey for a one time use type of mask. (Approximately $5 - $6 USD or $6 - $7.50 CAD per mask application)

                                                                     Packaging

Contents:
4 x 50g - Crystal gel packets
4 x 5g - Powder packets
4 x - wooden mixing sticks
1 x - Mixing bowl (Bottom of container packaging )

Something to really applaud 23 Years old for is their thoughtfulness when designing the packaging for their modeling masks ; no need to go out and buy a separate mixing bowl & spatula for the modeling masks because it already comes as a set! Reusable mixing bowl container & one time use wooden Popsicle sticks to mix & apply the modeling mask with. I give them an A++ on packaging!!

                                                         Contents : Powder & Gel

When you mix the powder & gel together it turns into this gel slime texture with little red spots in it (sounds gross but it's actually pretty nice and super easy to spread out) because the amounts are all measured out for you, you really don't have to worry about the consistency being too runny or too dry like some other modeling masks on the market where you have to measure out the amounts yourself and follow the ratio. (There're really no way you could really mess up the ratios of powder to gel for this modeling mask!) Like I mentioned earlier, the soft gel slime texture makes it really easy to spread out and apply an even layer on your face. As for the smell, it's a light fresh floral..?? i'm really not sure how to describe the scent but it's not very strong and artificial like some masks; it's quite soothing & relaxing actually.

Application

(Lol. to avoid the awkwardness and scare you guys with my bare masked face, I've decided to show the application and before & afters on my hands instead.. )

The instructions say to wait 15 - 20 minutes before removing but I've noticed that even after 15 - 20 minutes it's still very wet and soaked with essence (the mask has "hardened" into a jelly consistency vs. gel slime consistency and is totally removable with ease) but I personally like to give it roughly 10 more minutes and leave it on for 30 minutes or so while i relax and do other things. The mask will actually tell you when it's ready to be removed! (what I mean by that is that it's start to slip and slide on your face; especially if you're a snacker like me and like to sneak in a bite here and there while you've got a mask on ^-^" Once you start to feel your mask slip and slide around, it's ready to be removed!)

Before: Skin's a little dull and looks quite dry.

After:
There's a layer of serum left behind and skin is very moisturized, plump and soft (no rinse, just massage gently in circular motions or pat until left over essence is absorbed)
Final Thoughts

I would give this product 4/5 stars. I absolutely love the way this mask feels on my skin and the way it leaves my skin feeling afterwards but deducted 1 star because of the price and availability. So far, i've only seen this mask available online or at select stores in Pacific Mall in Toronto (roughly $40 CAD at select stores) I would definately repurchase this but I wouldn't pay any more then $30 CAD for this.
