23 Years Old : Aqua Bab Modeling Mask

It's been quite a few years since I've posted anything here but recently since I started my new sales job at a Korean/Japanese skincare & cosmetics store and have been trying out many many Korean skincare products (mainly masks) for "work purposes" I decided to try my luck at blogging and writing reviews again. (Lol. looking back at my horrific 1st post an "introduction" of myself just made me cringe in more then one way....let's just forget those days and start fresh, shall we??)

Now, on to what you're probably more interested in...a review of the 23 Years old Aqua Bab Modeling Mask  . Surprisingly this product hasn't gotten much hype on the internet or YouTube....so far i only know it's for sale on sites like eBay or Wishtrend for around $19 - $24 USD ($25  - $30+ CAD depending on conversion rates ) depending on where you find it. Inside there's only 4 uses...so, that's pretty pricey for a one time use type of mask. (Approximately $5 - $6 USD or $6 - $7.50 CAD per mask application)

                                                                     Packaging

Contents:
4 x 50g - Crystal gel packets
4 x 5g - Powder packets
4 x - wooden mixing sticks
1 x - Mixing bowl (Bottom of container packaging )

Something to really applaud 23 Years old for is their thoughtfulness when designing the packaging for their modeling masks ; no need to go out and buy a separate mixing bowl & spatula for the modeling masks because it already comes as a set! Reusable mixing bowl container & one time use wooden Popsicle sticks to mix & apply the modeling mask with. I give them an A++ on packaging!!

                                                         Contents : Powder & Gel

When you mix the powder & gel together it turns into this gel slime texture with little red spots in it (sounds gross but it's actually pretty nice and super easy to spread out) because the amounts are all measured out for you, you really don't have to worry about the consistency being too runny or too dry like some other modeling masks on the market where you have to measure out the amounts yourself and follow the ratio. (There're really no way you could really mess up the ratios of powder to gel for this modeling mask!) Like I mentioned earlier, the soft gel slime texture makes it really easy to spread out and apply an even layer on your face. As for the smell, it's a light fresh floral..?? i'm really not sure how to describe the scent but it's not very strong and artificial like some masks; it's quite soothing & relaxing actually.

Application

(Lol. to avoid the awkwardness and scare you guys with my bare masked face, I've decided to show the application and before & afters on my hands instead.. )

The instructions say to wait 15 - 20 minutes before removing but I've noticed that even after 15 - 20 minutes it's still very wet and soaked with essence (the mask has "hardened" into a jelly consistency vs. gel slime consistency and is totally removable with ease) but I personally like to give it roughly 10 more minutes and leave it on for 30 minutes or so while i relax and do other things. The mask will actually tell you when it's ready to be removed! (what I mean by that is that it's start to slip and slide on your face; especially if you're a snacker like me and like to sneak in a bite here and there while you've got a mask on ^-^" Once you start to feel your mask slip and slide around, it's ready to be removed!)

Before: Skin's a little dull and looks quite dry.

After:
There's a layer of serum left behind and skin is very moisturized, plump and soft (no rinse, just massage gently in circular motions or pat until left over essence is absorbed)
Final Thoughts

I would give this product 4/5 stars. I absolutely love the way this mask feels on my skin and the way it leaves my skin feeling afterwards but deducted 1 star because of the price and availability. So far, i've only seen this mask available online or at select stores in Pacific Mall in Toronto (roughly $40 CAD at select stores) I would definately repurchase this but I wouldn't pay any more then $30 CAD for this.

Holika Holika : New Aqua Petite Jelly Eye Shadow (#2, #3, #4) Review & Swatches

So since my trip to korea last summer when i discovered these lovely shadows i totally had the urge to collece them all becuase of the super cute packaging and the extra "umph" it adds to your make up looks cause of the bling bling~~ ^___^" haha...sorry for my slightly strange ways of describing products haha...it's been a while since i did blog posts and i'm still very new to the whole world of blogging... >___<" Anyways, these shadows aren't SUPER new but since i haven't seen many reviews on them i though it would be nice to do one as a follow up since i reviewed the 2 older aqua petite shadows...I originally passed up these shadows while i was in korea and only picked up the #1 Aqua Silver from the original line but this time, I picked up #2 - Aqua Purple , #3 Aqua Pink & #4 Aqua Green . I bought these 3 shadows off ebay and they ranges anywhere from aprox $11 - $14 USD. It is a tad bit pricey compared to buying it stright from korea but the packaging was just soooooooo adorable~~ >__<"

#2 - Aqua Purple is a Gorgrous purple shadow with very fine irridescent blue glitters

#3 - Aqua Pink is more like a pinkish coral with very fine gold shimmers

#4 - Aqua Green is like a seafoam green with very fine silver shimmers

There's also #1 -  Aqua White but I passed that one because it was too similar to #1 - Aqua Silver that I already owned from the original line....

Haha...so, on to the real question.....

                                                 ...Is is REALLY worth buying??

Let's get to the review, Shall we..?? ^____^

(Picture Without Flash)
Left to right : #2 - Aqua Purple , #3 Aqua Pink & #4 Aqua Green
(Picture With Flash)
Left to Right : #2 - Aqua Purple , #3 Aqua Pink & #4 Aqua Green

Just like the older version of these Aqua Petit Shadows, the size is Aprox 4cm.
The only major difference is the colour/design of the cap. Instead of a cute pudding on the top the new 2011 version only has text and the colour of "Aqua Petit Jelly" matches the colour of the shadow.

 Swatches WITHOUT Flash

Swatches WITH flash
The flash kinda washed out the colout of these shadows but they are very shimmery none the less~
The only problem I had with these shadows was getting the colours to be more opaque. If you have a bit of BB cream around your eye area and you try to swipe this on your lids afterwards with your fingers the colour becomes kinda patchy and looks really weird & cakey? (not sure if it makes sense to describe it as "cakey")  >__<"

So, I like applying these shadows with my fingers using a patting motion on top of regular shadows or using a Q-tip to apply a bit on the outer bottom third of my eyes to add a bit of bling bling to my eyes the best~~ ❤

The Good :
- More colour choice then the original line (Beautiful colours)
- Lasts quite long
- Adorable packaging as usual ❤

The Bad :
- More work needed to apply the shadows
- A tad bit pricey if purchased online for the amount of product
- There‘s ALOT of fine glitters so not the best for people who don't like that
- There's also quite a bit of fall out which can leave glitters everywhere

Rating : 3.3/5 Stars

Would I Re-purchase~???

Although I do like these shadows,,,,I don't think I would re-purchase if i was faced with the choice...This is mainly because the shadows are a little hard to work with sometimes and i wouldn't use these on an everyday basis because of how shimmery these shadows are. Haha...also because i'm a little bias...I like My #1 Aqua Silver shadow from the original line the most but none the less I think that these shadows are gorgeous and do at that extra "umph" for looks especially on weekends, special events & night looks~~ ^____^ Haha...i probably won't end up re-purchasing because of the fact that one of these shadows would practically last me FOREVER~~ ❤

If you're looking for something new & unique to try and also don't mind how shimmer it is i think this is absolutely WONDERFUL and you should give it a go~~! If not, I think you'd be ok with Passing this shadow up~ :)

Holika Holika : Aqua Petite Jelly Eye Shadow (#1, #2) Review & Swatches

While I was shopping my way through MyeongDong this summer...I picked up the Holika Holika Aqua Petite Jelly Eye Shadow in #1 Silver for 8,500 Won (Aprox. $8.50 CAD) and When I got back to Toronto, I decided to order the Holika Holika Aqua Petite Jelly Eye Shadow #2 from an online store (I-zakkaya.com) when it was on sale for $13 CAD. lol I actually felt like it was a tad bit pricey but because it's still cheaper than buying it on eBay and I didn't need to wait for shipping....I figured it was alright~

The Aqua Petite line is focused on hydrating products that will be good for the summer~ The overall packaging and marketing has a very summery beach/ocean vibe to it in my opinion...especially the colours available for the eye shadows~! The texture of all the products in this line is just like the name of the product "Aqua Petite JELLY __________" (lol. just replace with "eye shadow , BB or starter")

There's actually 2 different lines for the eyeshadow...an older line that only has 2 colours (silver & blue) with only 7 ml packaged with a white cap and blue/orange box & the new 2011 line that has 4 different colours (white, purple, pink & green/turquoise) that is 8 ml packaged with a turquoise blue cap and box. All shadows come housed in a sturdy glass container~! ^^ ❤ Strangely, The new line with 8ml is cheaper than the old line with only 7ml. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the new shadows are 7,900 Won while the older line is 8,500 Won.

As far as colour choice goes...the new line has more of a selection but if you're looking for a highlight shadow the only real options are Silver (from the OLD line) OR White (from the NEW line). Personally, I chose the Silver because it was more shiny compared to the white. So, I like that a tad more~ texture's the same just depends if you want something more outstanding or something more subtle~! ^^"

LOL. Anyways....Time for Pictures & Swatches~!! ^^"

#1 - Aqua Silver , #2 - Aqua Blue
(LOL. I find it so cute how the Korean is not a direct translation but "Korean-English"~! Haha...it's written in Korean but when you read it it's exactly like the English name with a Korean accent~ ❤ ^^ )

Another Picture....Sorry all the pictures are with flash..cause I felt that the pictures without flash weren't true to the product...So, I used pictures with flash instead~ ^^

Aprox. size of the Shadow is 3.5 - 4 cm (for all Aqua Petite Shadows & even the Aqua Petite Blushes)
All the shadows, blushes and the NEW 2011 line of Aqua Petite BB Creams & Starter come housed in a sturdy glass container~! ^^ (but the old Aqua Petite BB creams & starters come in a plastic container)
I like this alot more especially for the BB creams + starter~! The old 2010 BB creams + starter came in a plastic container and as cute as it was...it just felt a little cheap~ =3
LOL. I guess that's why the shadows are a little pricier compared to other shadows...because of the glass packaging~ ❤

Swatches With & Without Flash....
LOL. very sparkly & pretty with or without flash~ ^^"

The Good :
- Very pigmented
- Lasts for a very long time
- Very unique jelly texture
- Adorable Packaging + Very sturdy glass container

The Bad :
- Have to dip finger into product
- Quite pricey if not purchased directly from Korea
- May not be the best for people who dislike thicker/bigger glitter particles

Would I Re-purchase~???

DEFINITELY~!
I would repurchase this without a second thought!!
Haha...but I think this baby would last me ages since you really only need a very small amount everytime~!
I definitely recommend this product if you're looking for something new and more playful for your makeup collection but if you really only enjoy more natural looks you might want to think about it a little more~ ^^"
